My New Jimny - Introduction

Hello all,

I've recently become the proud owner of a 2004 Jimny, and I just thought I'd introduce myself!

I have absolutely no mechanical knowledge, but the plan is to slowly modify and improve and learn as I go. The end objective is more of a overlander-type vehicle than a hardcore off-road machine, and my priorities are a box roof rack, interior storage, a steering guard and (once the current tyres wear down) better tyres. Another thing I'm considering is switching the 3-spoke alloys for new steel wheels, but that is purely an aesthetic decision and I'm not sure if it's a wise one.

So far I've just done some basic rust-proofing in the engine bay, boot and on the spare wheel holder and I've installed a fire extinguisher. I've bought a steering guard as well, but I've failed to work out how to attach it so I need to look into that.

Anyway, I'm very happy to have found this forum and I'm looking forward to learning a lot!

2004 Jimny Mode: General Grabber AT3s (215/75/R15); Trailmaster 2" Lift; Jimnybits Snorkel; Jimnybits Front and Rear Recovery Points; Suntop Roof Rack; AVM Manual Hubs; Stainless Steel Exhaust System (SOLD)

Welcome Furo! ;)

You're in the right place, there's a wealth of jimny knowledge within these forums... I'm still learning myself, and it's a great resource! B)

Have fun with your Jimny...
