Well today I finally managed to find some time, in between coats of paint in the bedroom, to finally fit the new wheels...
The car looks so much better and I am now looking forward to having a proper play in the mud soon.
I also fitted some new speakers to the front, so I now have stereo sound which is so much better than the one speaker I was having to listen to!
Oh, and obviously I had to take it down the lane near the house just to try it out too...
A big smile is now on my face!

I took our Jimny out for its first laning on Sunday, and it was great fun, and I was amazed at how capable it was!
I was following my friend in his Range Rover classic with a 6 inch lift, so was a little nervous, but I think he was being gentle with me!
Now I really must sort out some underbody protection, hearing those scrapes underneath is horrible!

Well, I. Have been spending a bit more money on getting the jimny ready for action. And between the BigJimny discount with Bits4Vits and the Jimnybits weekend sale I now have lots of bits to fit...
That's a transfer box guard, fuel tank guard, rear shock skids and radius arm guards, oh and a steering damper, as can be seen in the upside down picture!
Now I have to try and get them fitted at some time. I also have a bit of wobble and a burning smell (just a stuck brake I think...) to sort out, and then it will be pretty much as I want it.

Thanks goshawker, I am loving my Jimny too, it has a lot of character!
Thanks for the offer markyp2000, but I am going to keep it at standard height for the time being.

Well today I finally got round to fitting all of the stuff I bought from bits4vits and in the jimnybits sale (transfer box guard, fuel tank guard, rear shock guards, radius arm protection and a steering damper), plus a new towbar, which is currently without a tow all as I forgot to order one... Oh, and a new lambda sensor to get rid of the engine warning light... So now it's almost as I want it, and I am very happy!
I only took one picture though and that is halfway through as it got a bit dark...!

Well, its been a while since I updated this, and so I thought it was about time I did.
So, it hasn't really changed too much, but I did spend most of last week stripping out the rear seat and side panels to mount some rear speakers to improve the sounds in the little Jimny...
Whilst I was there I also decided to rub down the spots of rust that had appeared there before kurusting and painting over the floor with a liberal coating of Hammerite to try and keep that at bay, as can be seen in the above picture, and better in this one.
I also decided to tidy up the mass of bodged wiring for the towbar electrics that was behind the rear panels, and also fitted a new socket into the bumper having caught and bent the original on a laning trip recently.
Once it was all back together I felt good, and thought I would have a quick check underneath the truck to see if any of the protection I put down there had been used much, and if my steering damper was still connected, and I guess it was good that I did as I found this...
Damn! So, I guess whatever this problem is, is the next job!
