As everyone says get out in standard trim first, I've done a few lanes down by you and there are some easy ones to start with , you can get in touch with local council and they will give you a code to use the woods near knatts valley , a bit more demanding !! , then get a small mortgage and funk up the jimny :-)

Funk up, I think you have spelt that wrong

Thanks for the welcomes, I will have to have a look out for Knatts Valley, it's not somewhere I know yet... Sounds fun though.

Hopefully I will end up 'funking up' the jimny and not, erm doing the spelling mistake!

Picked it up today, so now there are pictures!

Drove it home this evening and it drives well, I need to sort out the drivers side speaker as it doesn't seem to be working, but other than I am very happy and excited!

Now I just need the wheels and tyres I ordered to finally be delivered as TNT have failed twice so far...

Nice.
If they are the original speakers, change them they are rubbish. A decent set of set makes the world of difference.

I assume they are probably the standard speakers, are there any that are usually recommended and what size are they?

Woohoo! Look what turned up today!

Oh, and I have also found most of my old cb, I just need an aerial and maybe a different mount as I'm not sure that the hatch type will work on the Jimny.

They are a standard 4 inch. There is plently of choice out there. You might consider fitting rear ones. There is a good thread on here for that task. Can't remember exactly where but if you search on "rear speakers" I am sure you will find it.
