A friend of the family has an 80 series cruiser from new and he believed the hype and for the first 10 or so years it was true it never needed looking at but not now ok it's 4 years older than our 90 but it hasn't stood up to the abuse at all well. Our 90 came to us off a Welsh hill Farm and you can tell but it has been serviced all its life and is going strong and will easily out last the cruiser because of the servicing. Besides that there is a stead supply of 30 plus year old land rovers but you don't see many old Toyota.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

every car is reliable if your prepared to spend lots of cash keeping it going, landrovers seem to cost alot to keep alive........ theres a fair few green oval whores out there that think the land rover is the be all and end all of 4x4's and are unwilling to accept something could be better.

lots of upgrade parts available for LR's, but why.....................is it cos their shit in the first place

In real terms yes a land rover may need more parts than a jap but when the parts are substantially cheaper it's not anymore expensive if you are useful with the tools. If you have to pay for a mechanic then yes it does get expensive.
