Not a good weekend! was created by Obarno
I met up with some friends for a weekend of driving some of the excellent tracks in the Lozere starting near Langogne and then towards Garabit, and down to St Chely.
All went well until on one climb there was a big bang from under the car and the transfer box lever hit the side of the tunnel. The passenger side transfer box mounting had broken. Easy job to change and 5 minutes later off we went. I know better than to use std Suzuki ones and had bought new, but hadn't got around to changing them, not only that but I also had some bolt through ones in the car too! When I came to change into 2wd I found the gear lever was bent and I could only select hi or low! Took the lever out and tried to bend it back to normal. I can tell you the levers are incredibly resistant to change unless of course they hit the transmission tunnel!
The following morning we are driving some more tracks when there is another bang from underneath. This time one of the leading arms on the front axle has snapped! It was not a Suzuki part but made by ?? (not ORA though). Anyway took it off and by luck there was a house near by where the owner had a welder. Stuck it back together and refitted it. By now I'm thinking this really isn't my weekend and as things happen in 3s perhaps it better to go home whilst the car is till in one (!) piece.
So not a good weekend!
