Been meaning to get a "My Jimny" set up for a year!! Finally got most of the photos together so here goes...

Y reg Hard Top, came to me completely standard late September 2010. Didn't take a picture of him till a month later..

I got some Fourtrak wheels with general grabber AT's (235's I think) on. The rears went on no problem - the fronts were catching on speed bumps. Out with the hack saw....

In April 2011 got some 1.5" spring spacers and 32mm wheel spacers from Bits4Vits. Made a heck of a difference to the handling (wheel spacers positive, spring spacers not so positive). More hack sawing...

Then got the rear shock relocators - this made the ride much more agreeable. This kept me quite for a bit, then saw the BigJimny trip to Wagtails!! So next came the 2" body lift (after fitting the extended break lines of course)...

Looks good, rides good - but had some hassle fitting the lift (mainly because I live on a hill - plus rain - plus lack of experience - thanks to advice from Renard I learned to release the steering column and the break line junction, once this was done the rest was easy), ahem...

Then got one of Martins steering damper brackets and a landy disco damper + some 275 knobblies. Then it was off to Wagtails for my first Jimny off road experience...more hack sawing....

Thats the build so far. All my money has gone on repairs since then - new clutch (burnt out at wagtail), recovery equipement (used every trip since), new brakes, spot lights and repairing reversing lights! Need a new back door too after hitting a tree!!

Saving up for 3" suspension kit next (provided nothing else breaks) plus proper recovery point welding on. Oh yes, and a new back box....well will cut it off anyway...

I'll keep you posted.

lol, I can't think of a more perfect example to demonstrate the addiction and subsequent costs of driving and modifying 4x4 vehicles.

Welcome to the club :)

Hi Nivo thank you - have had no big problems with the tyresize - still standard t-box. I think I should swap the box though, on steep muddy hills 1st gear low gives no run up speed, but 2nd not low enough and it stalls. Of course this might be me rather than the wheel size ;). Still goes up hills I can't walk up!!

Hey Myers647 - how/where do they mount at the front?? Sound interesting. I've got a tow bar for the rear (in the garage), so interested in the front. I loop the straps around the chassis ends at the moment.

Hi mate they weld straight to the chassi. They are very strong iv used them loads to pull my mates V8 disco out when he got stuck, ha ha very imbarising for him.
You shouldn't use the chassi legs at the front they are the crumple zone and not very strong as we found out on Saturday night in the Peaks. It ripped straight off Ooops. Let me know if you want a pair for the front. It's 6mm flat bar.

Thanks
James
