In America they have Aerios (Lianas) with 2.0 and 2.3 engines, although I don't think they are M series so they probably wouldn't bolt up so easily. The 2.3 is 155hp

No the 2.0 and 2.3 engines are J engines. I have heard that the 1.8 was available in Germany, the parts database shows a UK model as well but I'm sure it never made it here.

There are sleeve kits available from Japan. Don't about the bigger crank though.

I've been ironing out a few bugs over the last few weeks, nothing major. I'm driving to Sydney again next week, 1000kms, then to Bathurst (another 3:30hrs), Staying with cousins at their family farm (200 acres), then back to Sydney and then after a few days returning to Brisbane. It's going to be an awesome shakedown run but I'll be nervous the whole time about the new mods. Highway driving is going to be so much easier and for once I won't be overtaken on the hills by all the slow drivers.
