finally connected up the 12v socket in the rear
ran the cable through the passenger foot-well,
the harness passes through a rubber membrane in the bulkhead into the engine bay,
I used some stiff wire to pierce the membrane just above the harness, then taped the feed wire to it and pushed through.
wired up directly to the battery so the socket works without having to switch the ignition on.
