Since I put the Comma sx75w90 synthetic in mine
1) there is a lot more whirring in neutral, that goes with the clutch pressed (worn input or layshaft bearings) the old oil and sawdust mixture kept that quiet
2) I cannot get it in first gear with a cold gearbox. Not rolling to a stop, not standing still, never unless I bend the gearlever nearly double with the force. (this is much more of a problem)
Since I put sx75w90 in the "crunchomatic (tm)" Vauxhall 2 years ago
I cannot get it in first gear with a cold gearbox.

(now I didn't twig this was to do with the oil at the time, it did stop some of the crunching though)
I bought enough to do the gearbox in my moto guzzi as well
The gearchange became baulky and notchy when changing up with a hot engine :silly:
I changed the 'bike back to straight mineral ep90 and it works like it did before I messed with it.
Conclusions:
1) DON'T MESS.
2) IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.
