I have a 2001 Jimny 5sp, left hand drive equipped with a T-Max 9500 pound winch and Lightforce Lance 140 lights. I would like to upgrade to a stronger alternator. May son had an '87 Samurai in America and there were kits that used a stronger General Motors alternator. Is there something like that available for Jimny's? Thanks for the help.
i know you can fit a 90 amp transit deisel alternater on a vit or sj & the alternator on the jimny looks very much same as a vitara one so maybe thats a option to give you a extra 20amp
They sell higher output alternators at zanfi.it. Their 120amp I think but they look expensive and not sure how much it would cost for postage to the UK. Also you cant really get info from them as the web site is in Italian with only a few bits translated into English. I think if you email them with the bit you want to no, they will translate it for you.
