how long to get up to temp? was created by goatboy
I was just wondering how long it is taking for peoples jimnys to get up to normal operating temps in this cold weather?

Mine is taking about 20 mins which seems a bit long so I was wondering if my thermostat was on its last legs...

Having only just got mine I have no idea what's normal...

Thanks!

Mine also - heater is hot in no time, however the autobox takes a couple of miles before its up to temp, and during that time it won't change into top. Probably not helped by the extra oil cooler I have put in the loop!

I'll be interested to read the outcome of this as mine doesn't even get to temperature even after 2 hours of running in bumper to bumper traffic.
Needle only moves from the stop at the bottom, about 2mm after this length of time.
I have luke warm/warm air from the blowers.
Rad hoses are warm/hot but are not too hot to hold.
Heater hoses are just the same.
So much so that my Merc is parked in the road and my old Jimny's in the garage so that the screen doesn't ice up as the heater won't defrost it. On BOTH sides of the glass!!

Might have to start a new topic with this?

Hmm... That sounds like it could be more than the thermostat, but maybe not. Mine definately gets up to temp but takes a while to do it...
Thermostat would be the first place I would start though
