Blowby Issue

Blowby Issue was created by edr_46
Picked up a 60k miles 2004 jimny recently with great service history, it had some gases coming out of the crankcase with oil fill cap off and no vacuum being pulled from the dipstick tube with some gas coming out. The PCV all seems to be working ok. There is not too much gas coming out and it is not smoking, just definitely not under vacuum. I've checked out the PCV, cleaned the IACV too.
How much blowby is there typically with a jimny? Is this something to be worried about long term? Any help would be great, or info on how much gas anyone elses puts out through the oil fill cap!

Hi Roger,
Sorry for not replying its not insured yet so I havent driven it a whole lot (temp day insurance is expensive!) on a big drive tomorrow so I'll report back. Are you thinking worn piston rings? I'm needing to do a leakdown test on it sometime but air compressors are hard to come by.

Start with wet & dry compression tests - if the wet test numbers are significantly higher than the dry, that'll be leaking past the rings.
