The new noise could be that only one of the front hubs is not engaging which creates an imbalance and generates a noise which has happened to me in the past. Run it in 4x4 if the noise becomes apparent stop and remove the vacuum hubs to see if both/one has engaged. A slight possibility but my money would be on Martins advice.
