I got stuck in some roadside leaves. Pressed the 4wd button (2013 Jimny) but it didn't help. Don't think 4wd came in, warning light came on. Is there an easy way to test if its working?. Perhaps jacking up or something.

Yeah if you select 4x4 and lift one front wheel then it shouldn't spin more than a few degrees if it is in 4x4. There's a whole heap more on the subject in the information section on the top menu.
