Hi all,
As the title says, I'm new to the form and firstly want to say hi to all and I hope to help others as much as other can help me.
We have just bought a Japanese import Jimny Sierra, auto transmission with 30 miles on the clock made in Dec of 2024.
It's a great, fun car and with the rear seats flat is surprisingly roomy.
So on to the issue.....that beep. I have seen (when searching the forum) that someone had a go at removing that beeping noise when reverse gear is selected. I don't mean the parking sensors, I mean the beep, beep, beep, beep (like an HGV reversing down the high street).
Has anyone successfully stopped this from happening without disabling the other chimes (indicators,. parking sensors, lane drift chimes) or is it a thing that is here to stay.
Does anyone know if it's transmission ECU, switched via the selector stick or activated off the reverse light?

Any info would be great,. something to start my search with.

Thanks

Simon

I believe it is off of the BCU (body control unit) and cannot be disabled
