Finally took the initiative to get a jimny after wanting one for a long time and am very happy with it apart from a persistent squeaking!
It starts about 15 minutes into driving and is louder and more consistent at lower speeds and seems to be coming from the driver side front wheel especially making a slight left turn. Interestingly the squeaking goes away when I brake.
It's been SORN for 3 years before being done up so hasn't been in motion for a long old while so was wondering if it could be some rust/general crud in the brakes?
Any advice is much appreciated
thanks!

Easiest to adjust are the rubber screw bungs that the bonnet is supported on in the slam panel. After that it comes down to being persistent and accepting that noises don't always come from where you think.

Could be a lot of things, of course.
If it's a wheel, your best bet is to jack the car up and spin them manually until you locate the sound.
But any responses you get here would be just wild guesses.

Thank you! I've given them a tighten and will see how it goes. If not I'll jack it up for further investigation next weekend.

The bonnet rattling is a common one, as is the dashboard, the screws (under plastic covers) come loose.
If it is under the car the rubber bushes on the various suspension arms can squeak as can the exhaust brackets, both of these often change under braking.
Although as others suggest it’s a long list of things that might cause the problem.
Does it happen a slow speed or over a speed bump, perhaps you could get someone to listen outside?
Or is it louder with a window down, that might help?
