Hello everyone,

I'm a long time lurker who's finally decided to make an account.
I own a 2007 gen 3, that I'm planning to do a M16a VVT swap on.
The thing is I'm having a bit of trouble finding information on this specific swap. Most seem to use non VVT engines. Are there any problems to look out for?
Here is everything I've collected to do the swap so far:
my 2007 VVT 1.3 jimny, this already has stainless headers and a full 2" stainless exhaust.
A mystery junkyard Liana M16a VVT engine, also from 2007 (planning on doing a partly engine refresh, I've already pulled the head), this engine was only missing the alternator, a/c pump, exhaust manifold. Other than that it was complete.
Full engine gasket kit
Engine timing kit
New head bolts
16000km old jimny intake manifold (nice junkyard score)
Cleaned, inspected and primed the timing cover/oil pump
Complete kit of new OE Suzuki power steering lines
Aliexpress special thick radiator
L.O.F. reinforced clutch kit
New OE Suzuki shifter bushes
Oil filter stud (already installed this)
New spark plugs
New ignition leads
New oil filter
New coolant

Please let me know if I'm missing anything!
If possible, I'd like to use the stock Jimny ecu with the 1.6 and the 1.6 injectors. Would that work?

Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
DutchJimny

Sounds like you're off to a good start.

reuse everything except the m13 block/head.
Use cables from the m13, manifolds and all cooling parts.
Swap also over m13 head cover (for the correct dip stick position) and m13 flywheel and m13 oil pan and sump suction pipe.

I found it easier to put the engine and starter motor on the gearbox with the intake manifold removed.

My vibrations I complained about was a clutch with other release spring setup. changed later and is OK now.
Also got problems with the cat in the manifold so check/remove/swap.

if you use the jimny ECU and m16 injectors, it will work OK from the start.

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.
