Rear Fog Lamp Installation - Help Guys 😫

Hello everyone. I’m new to the forum, and I’m in need of some help - there seems to be some real knowledgeable folks on here so fingers crossed. 

Back story is; iv recently imported a Gen 4 Suzuki Jimny from Japan and as you will know there is a vigorous test at DVSA it has to undergo in order to obtain a set of number plates. 

Now basically I’m trying to fit a rear fog lamp (they don’t come on these from factory) 

I need to find a live/positive from the headlight for my switch, so basically a live which only comes on when the headlight is switched on. 

has anyone been through this process or can you please advice where I can use a live which only comes on with dipped beam.

Are you sure you need a live wire from the headlight? The norm is to have the fog lights switch on/off with side or park lights.

Also, which headlights do you have, halogen or LED (I suspect the wiring is different).

I have attached the guide - it says it must only come on with dipped beam or main beam or the front foglights,

I can have it working with sidelights but I think it may fail the IVA test as the guide states to only work with dipped beam.

I checked the head light fuses thinking I could just add a circuit to that but the fuses in the engine bay seem to be “live” constantly even with ignition off?

Also I believe they are LED / xenon type headlights.

Have you removed the interior trim in the back driver side connector maybe already their also maybe at the dash for a switch

On the gen 3 rear fog wire is green and a black wire into a 2 pin connector 

No because this is a Japanese import they don’t come with a factory fitted rear fog lamp. It has to be fitted before it goes for the test.

I thought someone on here may know where the fuse for headlight or front foglights is so that I could tap into that
