l wouldn't leave antifreeze in an engine for 8 years, regardless of what the manufacturer says. l always change it after five years.

I'm sure the coolant in mine wasn't changed for its first 11 years, but it looked good when it came out.

There's something else going on.

Also: the Mazda FL22 coolant is designed for 11 years (only 10 years in the USA!) and is quite different.
