Morning - I'm looking at trying to get an idea of cost and time attached to cutting out corrosion and creating new areas at the front end of my Gen 3 in order to preserve it. I'd like to get the car up to a better level but not sure how much work is involved in doing this. I will share some pictures later today. Have others embarked on this part of the car as it's a common area for corrosion. Thanks 👍

As has been said before it depends on how useful you are with a welder vs paying someone else to do it for you, and how particular you are with regards to the finished product?

Depends on the level of corrosion, you could be just as well off replacing the entire slam panel (about £400 for the part) in the time you've taken to weld in patches.

What is the slam panel - is that just replacing the whole front end that's attached to the rest of the car. I did see you could get these at one point or would you get a good one from another Jimny for example? Thanks. Daylight failed me today so couldn't take pics.

Sorry I've googled this now so get what you mean. Sounds like a potential good idea - will check where the corrosion is all got to tommorow. Thanks.
