it wasnt the fan, the problem is mainly that is smells like burned steel and it mainly is when the 4wd is working, the drive the rest works normal, no problem no nothing

As others have said you need to get the car inspected by a mechanic or your trusted suzuki dealer. No one on here can diagnose a problem on a car they can't see. How muddy was this track you were on? Was the car covered in mud? Was the Radiatior full of mud? From your posts it sounds like you've overheated the engine but now its driving fine with no lights or warnings?

It was certainly the case in t'olden days that a car which had boiled its coolant, which wasn't unusual in hot weather when everything had a belt-driven fan, needed a top-up and all was usually fine.  Alloy heads and blocks make it more risky but the 1.5 engine may well be tougher.

I am a bit surprised that a few on here are saying "take it to a pro mechanic". For most, the point of asking on forums is exactly not to do that and instead try to learn some more about the issues at hand.

Anyway, if the OP is still reading this, there most likely is something wrong with the cooling system. A Jimny on stock sized wheels should simply not overheat unless in extreme warm environment. In the thread there are some suggestions (thermostat, radiator covered in mud), so you should address those. Have you checked the coolant level? Did the warning light come on at all?

The problem is if you over-heat a modern car engine to the point of boiling the fluid you almost certainly cause some damage to the engine, regardless of the original cause.  With a Jimny you are pretty sure to damage the cylinder head gasket.  Sometimes it happens the other way round, your cylinder head gasket has gone, that causes the engine to overheat under load and boil the fluid.

What happens long before it boils the coolant is you get an over temperature warning on the dash, if the OP didn’t get this he might have a warranty claim, so you would take it to the dealer.

If you have the equipment and skill to test and change if needed the cylinder head gasket and test/diagnose problems in the coolant system then fine go ahead otherwise you need to take it to a dealer, but you want to be sure first before stripping the head down.
