Jimny JB33W not sparking was created by Yankee Tom
Needing some advice. So I did an engine swap on a 1999 JB33W that I got from Beforward that arrived with a blown engine (no surprise there.) I replaced it was another 1.3L factory engine from Alibaba, engine showed up to my surprise and was in great shape. I got it in and everything fit to where it needed to be. Aside from a small water leak and fuel leak I have NO spark. Everything is connected as far as plug wires go and all my grounds are connected but all of my spark plugs aren't getting any spark. My first thought was the coil packs but those worked when I started this endeavor. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Apart from checking to see that wires are connected, what have you done? Have you checked voltages - is there 12v power to the coils?
What lights are on on the instrument panel when you switch the ignition on - does the check engine light come on?

I've checked all the points that should have power, and I'm convinced that it isn't timed right. In my other experience with American vehicles if the engine isn't timed right the cam sensor won't let the ECU send a spark. Do you know of any sources to find time on this or ignition sequence?

I believe i have discovered the source of the problem, the camshaft ends at the rear of the engine are different. I think the sensor is not sending spark because it reads it differently. I don't even recognize what the new one could even be close to.

Could be possible to just pry off the ring with the knobs from your old cam and replace on your donor. It is not so difficult and even possible to get it repositioned correctly.
Think I just recently posted links to that..
