I also have noticed this problem - however mine is an earlier 2001 non-VVT. I wonder if the fix will be applicable/available to that model too?

Havent seen it since the Liana engine came in. Also been wanting to check the PCV valve and the often clogged pipe going to the rear of the engine and the EGR something.
But these cold weather problems they are forgotten when spring comes and now the cold weather prevents me from finding motivation to go out. Luckily the frozen vaccum valve problems from last winter are gone.
Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.
