So as the title suggests, I want to install an aftermarket oil pressure sensor and gauge, but I don't know where I could put the sensor, the gauge already has a spot for it, any advice?
thanks in advance

The sensor for the oil pressure gauge goes in place of the "idiot" sensor that will be found close to the oil filter. I am assuming that the Gen.3 is similar to my Gen.4, I see no reason why it shouldn't be.

The stock sensor is a switch I think, so it won't light up a bulb unless there's no pressure, also yes it is near the filter and it has a cable connected to it, but won't removing it trigger any CEL?

You remove the standard sensor and attach it to a "Y" or "T" piece so that the original sensor and the pressure gauge sensor both get oil under pressure.

Please don't put a tee directly on the side of the engine block, I suggest the tee be securely mounted either to the firewall or the inner fender, which ever is convenient and connected to the block via a braided stainless steel flex.

Tees mounted directly on the block will generally fatigue from the vibration and break.

If you're in the UK Demon Tweeks should be able to supply what you need.
