Bit more information. Having got to work transmission is sitting at about 82c which seems reasonably sensible. You were saying that you were having slip was that because your converter was not locking up? Mine seems to have 3 stages around 700 rpm slip, around 400 rpm slip and locked?

From your results it looks like mine is running a bit on the hot side.
The TC appears to lock up correctly. When it's locked the engine revs don't change immediately when I move the throttle pedal. I might take it for another run today and check the slip numbers.
The slip I'm seeing is on gear change, especially when it is cold. When changing up you can hear the engine revs rise before they drop down as they should.

Mine does that, it will either unlock in the selected gear and slip the TC or it will slip then drop a gear and slip until it locks again. However it feels perfectly smooth when it is doing so. I will try later with some 100pc throttle changes and see what slip it gives.

I don't think that is what I am seeing. In my case it's most noticeable in up changes, not down changes. For example when changing from 2nd->3rd you would expect the engine revs to drop as it changes. In my case the engine revs rise for a moment then drop. You also feel a momentary loss of drive when the revs rise. It feels like the internal clutches are slow to engage.

Right, after more observation it seems that it doesn't actually lock up in 3rd or second. The TC is still slipping about 150rpm on a light throttle and when changing up and then on virtually the same engine rpm the slip increases with the new gear and then it eases back the engine rpm as everything catches itself up. This feels entirely seamless from the driver seat.

I don't know if you noticed but the gear indicator in SZ viewer shows a + after the gear number if the TC is locked.
I took it for a test drive today and it stayed under 90C on the open road at 55-60mph. It's on the back roads with lots of steep hills and speed changes where the temp creeps up. I'm half tempted to fit an additional cooler because it's going to get used on back lanes a lot.
By the way, what sort of fuel consumption do you get? I just filled up and doing the maths I only got 21MPG, which seems painfully low. I am running without a lambda sensor at the moment - the antifreeze from the failed head gasket killed the sensor. I replaced it with a used one I had kicking about but there must have been some residual coolant because the replacement failed very quickly. I'm running it open loop for a while to make sure everything is cleared out before replacing the sensor again.
