ARB Vs Ironman Bullbar for 4th Gen (2021) Jimny was created by LMcRae
Hey everyone,
I'm hoping to get some help deciding between the Ironman Commercial Deluxe Bullbar and the ARB Summit Bullbar for my new 2021 Suzuki Jimny. I'm in Australia. Does anyone know the weight for each of the bullbars? Besides the weight, are there any features that one has that the other lacks?
Cheers in advance,
Lachlan

ARB says theirs weighs in at 45kg.

Ironman doesn't specify the weight. but they have two, with different features, and I suspect different weights.

If you're in direct conflict with Australian wildlife then I would probably say go for the arb. They have saved plenty of people from being totally immobile when it really matters. The clue is in the name, Australian Roo Bars.

Thanks for providing a weight for the ARB bullbar.
In terms of the Ironman bullbar, I'm after the "Commercial Deluxe Bullbar".
Do you have any info on how these bullbars differ?

Thank you for your answer. I'm wondering what the differences are between the two bullbars? The Ironman bullbar will also save me from kangaroos, not just the ARB.

Thanks mate! So in total the Ironman bullbar is 61.3kg compared to 45kg for the ARB bullbar? That's a big difference! Or does the 10.8kg winch mount weight only get added to the Ironman bullbar if am getting a winch?

Edit.
Just spoke with ironman agents.
Yes the lux (3 loop one) is indeed a whopping 63kg
The special (1 very small loop) is 60kg.
That is heavy....!!!! For a jimny. !!

Thanks a lot for clarifying mate. I'll definitely be going with the ARB and saving nearly 20kg in weight.

I'd be amazed if the all up weight differs much between them. You'd need to know what the ARB figure actually includes.

I contacted ARB and they said they put 45kg on the vehicle and they will take off 8kg so there is actually only a net gain of 37kg for the ARB bulbar. I'm assuming there will also be approximately 8kg taken off the vehicle to put the Ironman bulbar on as well.
It does seem strange that the Ironman bullbar weighs so much more than the ARB but that's what all the figures/sources are saying...

Well I'm not really disputing the figures. Just trying to understand what they are.
If the Iron man figures include 9.2kg for fixings (I assume nuts & bolts). The ARB item bolts on in the same way to the same places. So would also need a similar amount of fixings.
Meaning the ARB figure either includes or excludes this. If they include, 35kg suddenly seems very lightweight/light duty for the bumper compared to the Ironman. Or 55kg suddenly seems very similar. On a similar note, they both support winches, which is just a tray that bolts between the chassis rails. I'd suspect they are very similar for each.
I imagine the only thing that could make a difference would be the gauge of the steel used. If one bumper is more heavy duty than the other.
