I thought that most power steering systems self bleed when turning to full lock and activating the bypass valve?

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Thanks for that. I used up the two litres I had and all works good as before, just a little darker in colour than in the bottle so I might buy another as you suggest and pour that in too. It's a simple enough job to do...

Perhaps but without experience I went for the safe option. Cheers.

Ok so thought I'd continue on this old thread as relevant.
Does the PAS reservoir cap come off - and how, unscrew, prise off? I can't budge it either way. Stressing the components - and me! Trying the syringe it out renewal using the filler plug but can only get 50mls or so because of obstructive filter. Take a long time that way.
2010 1.3 VVT Jimny.

I'm beginning to think it's welded shut. I cannot shift it with various wrenches tools (jam jar lid remover even!), hot water, hammering rim, wd40. Removed from its brace to avoid breaking the bottle. Humiliation. Maybe 2010 model is different? Anyone confirm it opens on later gen 3s?
