Best wheel width for 215/75r15 was created by Daz3031
I have a set of grabber at3s for my 2019 Jimny and I'm about to buy a set of steel wheels to mount them on. Am I best getting 6" or a 7" wide wheels? I have found wheels available in both widths and I already know that there are no issues with fitment/clearances in either width.
Most people on here seem to have 7" - is that because they are the most suitable width or purely because of availability in that size? I've seen it said elsewhere that 6" wide is the optimal for 215/75r15.
What the advantages/disadvantages of both?
Thanks

Primarily it's an availability issue. 15x7 is very common.

6" rims would be best
for some reason no one makes them
I have 7" rims with 225 width tyres and have suffered rim damage while off roading
I would say use the standard wheels with 5.5" rims for 215 width

Used 15x7 wheels with 215/75 tyres on my old Jimny, had no issues.

Are the standard 5.5" wide enough for a 215 width?jackonlyjack wrote: 6" rims would be best
