Biltema product number Art. 71-126 did the trick. Maybe would be useful to include this in the Wiki?

Biltema (scandinavian halfords) product number 71-126 is a 24mm socket.
But this depends what the outer diameter of your socket is, and that is up to the manufacturer isn't it?
Acc to my SKF bearing catalogue the 30302 bearing should have a 36mm inner diameter for the hole supporting the race, 42mm outer.

Yes, the biltema 1" was too small but the 24mm "heavy duty" socket was perfect for the job. If i remember right, the 1" was 33,3mm and 24mm 33,8mm.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I took mine out with a punch probably, or a chisel, never occurred to me to spend ages rooting around for a socket to hit. Bit of a swine working upwards too...
