yes, but you may need to time it together with pressing the button to get into 4x4, and keep them together until you want to come out of 4x4.
Would be useful to join some wire to them and take into the cab with a little manual switch maybe?, would mean you could do it while driving.

Well, I had some time this evening so I removed the switch to see if it can be soldered before ordering a new one from amayama (3763076J20 is the part number)
Here it's around 40 GBP.
I was able to solder the broken wire:
Added some liquid steel or whatever it's called to protect the soldering and the other wire :
Now the 4WD H/L works. I will give it some time before ordering a new part. It might last..

Well done on the repair! They are just a switch, so once you know that they are easy to sort out
