4WD switch wire issue (2006 VVT)

Hi all,
Yesterday while driving in the desert in a fast trail full of small stones I've noticed that the 4WD light was blinking and the Jimny was suddenly in 2WD without the ability to go back to 4WD.
One of my mates dived under the car and found out that one of the wires of the 4WD switch located on the transfer case got disconnected (the access is pretty bad when the engine is hot and the transfer skid is installed)
He put some electric tape and a zip tie and it helped for 5 minutes and then I was 2WD again. Luckily we were already close to the night camp and 2WD with lockright was sufficient.

It is possible to solder back the broken wire (it was disconnected right where the bolt is..) or any other idea?

? Any workaround to allow us to off-road tomorrow in 4WD ? It's a pity that a tiny stone caused that, the skid plate could not assist here..

What is the part number of this 4WD switch? Might be a good idea to have a spare for this showstopper part in my tools box.

Thanks!

Have a look at this thread...

I found out how to bridge the wires from the t-box and fool the ecu into locking in the front hubs and assuming all was normal ;-)

Thanks, I'm not 100% sure this what I need. Correct me if wrong but the post refers to a scenario where the 4WD button in the dashboard needs to be bypassed. In my case, the "ball" switch located on the transfer has 1 disconnected wire. Unless I'm missing something which is possible as I'm after 100 km of desert driving..

Those are sensors to tell the 4x4 controller if you are in 2wd, 4wd or 4 low. you can short the two wires out, which makes it think that particular sensor is engaged. There are two on your box. i think one is for 4x4 and the other for low, but i dont know which is which.

The other connector is a multiplug, which goes onto the top of the box and that one is the one which controls what ratios are selected by the motor in it.

If I connect those 2 red wires in the pic - it should work?
