Docmartin4x4 wrote: Right when it comes to electrics I am bloody useless but......when I had the job of selling 4500 old ser 3 ex-mod land rovers we used to start them using a jump pack and on the stubbern ones flick it over to 24v and they would start a treat but it would screw the coil up and then always be a problem to start. I know if 2 batteries are wired in a certain way they produce 24v as opposed to 12v. Have you or are you putting 24v through to system and damaged your coil packs? I might be talking bollox but....then again it might help.

It's in parallel so it will be 12v but with more amps. If in series you would get 24v but at the same amp output as one battery. That's not to say the increase in current has not caused a problem.

But then i tested one more thing....
The Keys.
My main key is a transponder copy from a key maker.
And the immobilizer chip is powered by a small battery.
Which I believe is flat.
I used my original key. ( No battery) and

I dont use my original key because its got a fracture in it..
I hope this thread is useful to someone else in the future
