Good to know you can weld them but the dealer I bought Jimny from has agreed to replace cat with gen Suzuki item as well as crankshaft pulley so can't complain at that. Only bad point is I won't get the Jimny back till next week :(

My exhaust split just infront of the cat. I would normally have gone for one of the £70 ebay ones but as the car was still under dealer warranty I bought a slightly more expensive (but still non-genuine) one from euro car parts.

At about £105 I expected it to come with a heatshield, but it didn't, and retro-fitting the suzuki heat shield wouldn't have been easy. It hasn't caused any management issues though.

Did you remove it or did the repairer do the teardown as well as the welding or was it done in situ??
