do you have standard jimny steels on it or are they wider , try driving with some standards on or put a damper on the steering

I've previously said that I think it is impossible to balance a big treaded remould aggressive mud terrain tyres properly and today had a conversation with Rhino Ray about his 205/16 Insa Turbo Special Tracks and even he can't stop it, so if he can't, no-one can!!! It's all those big blocks of tread sticking out all over the show!!!

How about having 2 sets of wheels + tyres, it looks like that's what I'll be doing in the end. One set for the road that isn't aggressive - say AT's and a set of all out hard core mega aggressive tyres like the Special Tracks.

At least you know it's the wheels and tyres and not the vehicle so you won't go insane trying to figure it out and we have all learnt from it too!!!

I don't see why you can't shim the kingpin bearings Martin as it's an identical design as far as I can see. Next time I'm in the Main dealers I'll ask them to look them up and see if they sell the shims. That should answer the question, I just assumed you would have to but perhaps with modern manufacturing tolerences being better you don't need to as everything is manufactured to fit better from the outset.

Its certainly the same design and you can certainly buy the shims if you quote the SJ part numbers. But the Jimny manual and Jimny parts list does not list shims for the Jimny.
