ok lads i,m looking for a little off all your lads vast knowledge . i went out in the jimny yesterday for a wee drive and noticed i have a few problems with it .first one
1) when i brake the car pulls aggresively to the left but when i,m driveing it wants to pull to the right
2)i have 2 leaks in the steering knuckle,s does the oil come from the front axle in this leak and can i fix the
steering knuckle seal with out stripping all the brake,s and that off .
next the poor wee buggers gt no guts what so ever struggle,s to get to 50m.
i,m thinking off fixing it myself but is this a job for a DIY

Most likely the right hand front brake is seized on.

Your (kingpin) swivel bearings have gone.

If fixing the brakes doesn't get it to 80, the catalyst is partially blocked.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

What size tyres are they? I have 215/80/15 malatesta kaimans which are 29.75" in real terms and I can do 70 mph but on a flat only just with a rocklobster giving 10% lower high ratio gearing. With standard gearing it would be a struggle as I'd keep falling out of the power band which starts about 3500 rpm but really comes in about 4000 rpm on a twin cam.

This is why Jimjams use so much fuel. I generally can cruise about 60 mph and on hills drop to 4th to maintain that. I could maintain 70 mph but on those tyres it's madness.

I agree you have issues with binding brakes and or brakes not coming on properly. If I were you I'd give the front brakes a complete overhaul then see where you are at. If no better getting up to speed the cat could be blocked but at least neither you or anyone else will die!
