What exactly does fitting a steering damper do? Are there any to avoid or do they all do the same job regardless of make?

As Mark said, there is plenty of info on this subject on the forum already.

But, it does make the Jimny steering feel more surefooted and can help alleviate any wheel wobble. However, do not use a steering damper to "hide" any king pin and/or bad wheel balancing issues- you will only eventually make things worse and more expensive to resolve!

i fitted one recently and it was well worth the money and time. The CO totally approves of the improved feel of the Little Beast.
