I've only just read this thread so forgive me for being a little slow on the up take.

The front wheelbearings on Jimjams are quite reliable. They are well sealed and don't suffer from heat issues so the grease stays in them and clean.

Naturally with bigger wheels and tyres and off road stresses they will waer quicker than a normal road car though.

Kingpin barings are a load of rubbish and need to be changed regularly regardless of whether there is play or not.

If you could feel play I would have expected you to be losing axle oil from the axle tube oil seal too. If you weren't, you might want to check your diff oil level on the front. It's just you didn't mention it.

That shim is not meant to be a solution to a worn bearing, so don't forget it's there and dochange the bearings out asap!

Hi Kirkynut,

Thanks for your answer and worry. I have bought the bearings already. They are on their way. The washer was just a quick solution, since the kingpin is not adjustable (i guess i was asking too much, but APIO do sell they in Japan).

I didn't check the front diff oil because i got it changed about 2 months ago. Will check again. By the way, it was full of WATER! I need to change the valve breather spring asap as well (or, of course, extend them). Also have ordered to pickup at the dealer:

cap, breather #46541-52002

spring #09440-12004

valve #46542-52000

I don't actually know how those two things are related, thought. I'm a Jimny Dummie.

Thanks a lot!
