I use the throw them in the bin and fit fixed or manual hubs technique or they would do my head in!
Mine were tempramental when I bought my Jimjam but knew of all the problems from reading the many posts on this site and bought fixed ones and cut down bearing nuts with the truck from KAP as a result of this knowledge. I went greenlaning before having had chance to fit them and they played up on the first lane.
It can't be hard to get the vacuum ones to stay fixed all the time. A bit of a clean up then chemical metal on the sliding ring gear would work a treat I'm sure.
I'veheard all the stuff about increased wear on the front axle components from fixed hubs blah blah blah - but really? My old SJ410 was sold with fixed hubs and did 90k on them fine before my ownership with it's wheezy 1.0L engine, so I think the Jimny will cope ok!

Just a little test...
My left hub operates... I test suction and clack click is ok...
But the right hub don't operate... sucked off...
I do a sealing test later

One pipe sucks them on and the other sucks them off make shore you have both sucking on pipes one ether side in the right position and also the same with the to sucking off pipes other wise you may have one hub sucking on and the other sucking off whn putting in 4wd

Thanks markyp2000
but I disconnect my right hub to test it (same as the maintenance manual says)
It is for that I think I have leak to my hub...
Is it possible to repair or it is better to fit manual hub

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Check the wheel bearings.
If the bearing is worn there will be a vacuum leak that stops the hub releasing.
It will release if you blow down the other pipe.
The hubs work because of atmospheric pressure entering the pipe that doesn't have vacuum applied, so blowing into a pipe will operate the hub in the reverse sense.
you should be able to pull a vacuum on each spigot pipe, and it should stay for a few seconds.

I put myself questions…
I say myself “that will not return… what is fall in default !!! â€.
I have changed the servo-valve, replaced my African hubs :S … and my old hose connections by silicon hose
… It is necessary that I must find this leak… And it is not sure that the repair is efficient  .
Would it be more judicious to put manual hubs and what can I fit ???
Quid???
