Is it a major job to relay the brake lights onto a switch as when i go lamping at night in my Jimny and hit the brakes it illuminates the field! Is there a kit you can buy and/or what components do i need and its is do-able which limited electrical knowledge?

Simple, just find the brake light switch on the brake pedal, then break into the wire and fit a on/off switch. But remember to put it back on for the road.

As supergaz says easy just put a switch into the feed from the break pedal switch if you used a switch with double contacts you get then bring on a warning light inside the car to show they were disabled

Yes basically i want a switch on the dash where i can disable the break lights for shooting at night but simply switch them back on for when i'm back on the road. Thanks for the advice ill have a look this afternoon how accessible the wiring is around the break pedal.
