Speakers blown? Only way to test is by buying new ones I guess...
Are you sure you have them connected the correct way around if you put positive to negative on a speaker it dosnt work

Have you checked for continuity in the speaker cables? Maybe a previous owner had cut the wires for some reason. Get a multimeter and check this. Even blown speakers should make some sort of noise

That's not really true is it - they just play out of phase.JerseyJimny wrote: Are you sure you have them connected the correct way around if you put positive to negative on a speaker it dosnt work

Get a tester and and put one end on one of the cables at the speaker end and the other on the radio end . You should get a beep from your meter if the wires are not cut
Test all 4 wires 2 left and 2 right , when testing unplug the wires from the radio and the speakers or you may get false readings
One last thing wile you have the wires off the speakers put a 9v pp3 type battery on the terminals this will make the speaker bounce if its working

The multimeter will have two probes on the end of a lead. There will probably be enough reach between these two leads to reach - one at the stereo wiring end and one at the speaker end. If there is no continuity (ie wiring cut or broken) then it should be a fairly straightforward task top replace them with some new speaker wire from Halfords or the like.
