ive got a similar problem but my radio wont stay on enless in a certain position. i think one of the cables to the back of the radio has been broken slightly causing it to either short or just be a bad connection. does anyone have a diagram of whats behind the dash before i go ripping it apart 
thanks in advance. reply to the post: have you got a spare speaker around or that you could borrow from anpother vehicle?? if not just use a hifi speaker if you have one?
