In the process of changing my clutch all has gone reasonably to plan until now :(

I have followed Martin's comprehensive guide to the letter. I have fitted the clutch friction and pressure plate and used a clutch alignment tool to centralise it. When I get the gearbox close with the bottom nearside threaded stud in the locating hole on the engine block it will not go any further despite any amount of 'jiggling'. The cause is not the 2 blank metal locating pins as they are still a couple of mm from their engine block locating holes. I have even tried jacking the engine forward slightly and jacked up/down the rear edge of the box to change the 'attack' angle.

I realise I am no mechanic and if it wasn't for the fact that I really want to learn how to do this for the future I would be beginning to wish I had paid the garage to fit it :(
