Right i've searched on the forum and other google searchs and i cant make my mind up about the clutch,

i've booked it in for a clutch replacement on the 20th, £150 i dont think is a terrible price so i want to order the clutch tomorrow/day after so its here for the change

i had my heart set on a paddle clutch but after the googling, seems there a bit to much for daily driving? this wont be a problem in a couple of months as it wont be my daily drive anymore,

i've also said read if i replace it with a standard clutch i'll be replacing it again in around 7 months?

so the question is is it worth the extra £50-60 to get a paddle up over a stage 1 fast road clutch?

any help would be great

thanks alot
crock

£150 is not too bad for a garage to fit the clutch but tbh its not difficult to fit it yourself

a standard clutch should last alot longer than 7 months but that depends on how you drive it & where

my parents are paying for my chrismas present, saves me lying under the car in the snow thats forcast and f'ing and blinding whilst it all goes wrong,

well mine had a new clutch a year or so ago before i purchased it but was hardly driven after being fitted (around 2k miles) and now its about dead. well i was going to live with it but my dad had a drive the otherday and said he doesnt want me driving it like that so he offered to pay

i off road it atleast once a week, and soon to be pulling my mates new disco as it breaks down?

ok if your dad is paying then why would you want to do it yourself

if you offroading every week & driving though deep mud & water & pulling landy's out you can't expect the clutch to last very long but thats a small price to pay for all the fun you be having

i would not bother with any of the so called heavy duty clutch's that are available been there done that & was not impressed then fitted a clutch from calders in mine & my bro's no probs with there clutch's they seem to last very well my bro's is still going strong after about 2 years no idea about mine as i sold it long ago :(

have you got standard transfer box ???

My thoughts exactly

yeah i still have my standard transfer box thats on the to do list for early next year once the contract gets signed for my new job.

I've never heard of these calders clutch, you rate them highly? i've just googled them and they say a 24,000 warrenty, but not including motorsport does that include off roading?

anyone who has a paddle clutch have any input?

cheers
