Welding the boot! was created by J-Bro
In a recent topic I mentioned problems with rust in the boot.
Well this week it's getting done. Not through a garage but a friend who knows how to weld and has done plenty of cars before.
Will I need to remove:
Fuel tank?
Exhaust?
Or anything else?
Any help would be grand!

Yes Jbro I would recommend you remove the fuel tank for safety. First you will need to seperate the exhaust rear section from the front section (with the cat on it) then you will be able to drop it out of the way. Next remove the securing nuts holding the tank to the chassis and it should drop down enough to enable you to drape a wet blanket over the tank to protect it. Be sure to cover the filler pipe/breather too. Good luck

depends where the rust is in the boot really if its nearer to the font of the car where the rear seat bases bolt on then may be remove the tank etc but if its just the tool compartment then just take the rear exhaust box off
also depends how your mate is going to weld the patches ie cut rust right out and cut plate to fit in hole or clean the rust off and just plate over it
