hi im a newbie and i have just got a w reg soft top. drove it 250 miles home and no issues and it goes good except for the heating. I flushed out the system and put a new thermostat in her. ran her up for 20 mins as well as topping up anti freeze making sure all tthe air was out. seems fine but when i put fan heater on it is only warm not nice and hot. i checked bottom hose and that felt cold so im thinking next course of action is the water pump... any ideas ?
still could be thermostate where did you buy it from
also it could be a blocked radiator as the water flows from top to bottom
and yes could be water pump is the water curculating in the top of the rad
yes water flowing top of rad, in not convinced its a head gasket as i had no water loss or tempreture issues after a 250 mile drive. so im not sure what to do next
i got thermo from unipart motor factors. rad not blocked as i took out plastic screw in plug at bottom of rad to assist in draining and engine is soc the spanish built soft top
just because you took the bung out and it flowed out doesnt meen the rad isnt blocked remove the stat and check in a pan off boiling water and see if it opens
