Mine packed up two months ago, speedo and mileometer.
My Samsung Galaxy Ace fits perfectly in the dash in front of the speedo and I use Speedview, a free GPS based speedo/data loging app.
Works for me, although I will go out and twiddle with the fuse wiring tomorrow

Success !!!
Not the fuse wiring, nor the sender.
I removed the dash surround (2 screws above clock facia and oull it all off) then the 4 screws that hold the clocks in, undid the 2 connectors from the back of the clocks and wiggled them around, nothing.
While I was looking at the back of the clocks I noticed they are made by Magnetti Marelli .......
The lightbulb lit up in my brain,,,,
Italian electrics, give em a smack !
1 short sharp smack on the clocks, connectors back in and speedo and milometer both working fine
