The problem there is that the mud competey covers the inner wing etc.

The car is already heavy enough

Does any Jimny have rear plastic inner wheel arch liners (above the rear wheels)?

I have never seen one with those. The only exception is a small liner which covers the fuel tank intake hose near the rear right wheel.
However, every Jimny has prepared lips and mounts above the rear wheels for the installation of inner wheel arches.

If rear inner wheel arches do not exist, would there be any argument against cutting those lips and mounts? They just collect mud and grit which is impossible to wash off - only scraped off by hand.

There's no use for them but I suspect that by trimming them you will encourage more rust than just leaving them alone and ensuring you have a good washing regime that includes them. There are no liners there.

This is not a usual rust spot generally anyway so I'd not worry.
