What wire for spotlights ?

I'll be putting 4 lights on, each one will be, at a guess 150w so 600w total would equal 50 amps, is that right, or is car wiring wattage calculated differently ?

D = I * sR * L / (Vbegin - Vend)
D = Diameter; I = Amps.; sR= resistance Copper: 0.0175Ω; L = cable length; (Vbegin - Vend) = max. allowed Voltage Drop
Example: 100W appliance/12V circuit/20m cable length/max. Voltage Drop 0.6V 100W/12V = 8.3Amp.
D mm2 = 8.3Ax0.0175Ωx20meters/0.6V
Outcome is 4.8mm2 minimum, so use a 6mm2 cable.
It will be a very thick cable...

Martin better save this formula on the general section its very simple and can help people calculate their wiring diameter very easily so no jimnys get burned
