Good evening
sorry I'm new my wife has a jiminy she just phoned me
She went to to start the car it made a whirring noise on gear selection
Stalled now won't start or go onto gear and the dashboards all lit up
Gearbox gone
Help please on ideas ?

i take its its a manual it coould just be the clutch gone and the lights are on cos it stalled

what year and engine is it

Sorry it's a 02 manual, clutch was last done in 2011 about 14k in miles
It will start but stalks when put in gear

Maybe the clutch cable snapped?

does it stall when you take your foot of the clutch or as soon as it iin gear

its a long shot but is the gear linkage is still conected your not selecting 5th or another gear apart from first what about reverse

As soon as you select gear it stalls the rac turned up didn't bother looking
Sent the recovery vehicle straight to her so could be broken
