jimny auto box selenoid light was created by gaffertoo

Hi all,can any one me please.
My wife's jimny has a fault ,the engine management light comes now and again and the
garage put it on the d/nostike thing and said .it could be the auto/box selenoid playing up,now what is it and what can I do. It go's fine ,gears change very nice,no noise's of any kind,now how often would you ( if you have to)change the auto oil.

One thing more before she go it the lady who she got from only did 60 mile in 9 months
would this have any thing to do with it

When the engine light comes on does it lose power? Which engine do you have?

Hi,no it does not lose power ,the engine 1300 on a x plate S O H C.
